The bird in the cage
it stares outside,
wondering what it'll be like
high it'll fly , higher it'll try
beyond the stars and into the sky
live its life the way it likes
free from shackles and bounds alike
Night falls and the bird sings
songs of freedom and stories of kings
suddenly
sadness dawns and the bird sings
looks down at its broken wings
with these broken wings how does it fly
it makes the little bird cry
the day dawns and brings new hope
gives its life more scope
it'll dream again
that it'll fly again
Finally the day arrives ,
no fetters no bounds
it is free to go anywhere it wants
take those broken wings and fly away
all this while it has waited
for this moment to come its way
It tries and stops
tries again and realizes
it can't fly
it can't even try
change is scary
scarier is life
bird sings again
no longer dreams
never was it tied down
the fetters were never there
and they were always there
in its mind

Lord!! Show mercy..
From when the fuck did Louda become a poet?
:D :D :D
:)
is the name of the bird "lauda" by any chance/?
:)
i have the same Qs as CB and Varun :D
its a good poem.....next time you write a poem....also mention in your status message that its a poem....
By the way, there is one thing that is not clear. Is its wings broken for real or is the broken wing also a dream?
If the wing is broken for real, then it means it can never fly and the cage is just a figment of its imagination to forget the horrific reality. The hope of being able to fly one day is always better than facing the reality of not being able to fly at all, ever.
So u cannot really blame the bird for conjuring up the imaginary cage. Its a source of hope, if nothing else.
P.s.. why the bloody hell does it have broken wings????
L...A turns poet
Really nice. Loved it. Songwriter, are you?
